O alcoolismo acarreta problemas sociais, econômicos e de saúde, e as repercussões do uso abusivo de álcool na saúde do indivíduo acabam tornando a sua presença comum nos diversos serviços de saúde. Os enfermeiros, portanto, estão trabalhando cada vez mais junto a este paciente. O objetivo do presente trabalho foi identificar e comparar as atitudes de enfermeiros de serviços especializados em álcool e outras drogas e enfermeiros de outros serviços de saúde (Serviços de atenção básica à saúde, Hospitais gerais e Serviços de saúde mental) frente ao alcool, ao alcoolismo e ao alcoolista. Os dados foram coletados por meio da Escala de Atitudes Frente ao Álcool, ao Alcoolismo e ao Alcoolista EAFAAA. Foram feitas uma análise descritiva das informações sociodemográficas da população estudada e uma análise dos dados obtidos com a aplicação da EAFAAA. Com intuito de verificar se a atitude do enfermeiro é afetada por variáveis, como tipo de serviço (especializado ou não), experiência clínica com dependentes de álcool e demais variáveis sociodemográficas, foram feitos os testes não paramétricos de Mann-Whitney e Kruskal-Wallis. A amostra do estudo foi composta por 526 enfermeiros, 44 oriundos de Serviços especializados em álcool e drogas, 298 oriundos de Hospitais gerais, 153 oriundos de Serviços de atenção básica à saúde, e 31 oriundos de Serviços de saúde mental, que apresentaram atitudes negativas frente ao álcool, ao alcoolismo e ao alcoolista. Porém, os oriundos dos serviços especializados em álcool e drogas, os com preparo para atuar com o alcoolista e os com maior tempo de profissão apresentaram atitudes menos negativas. É importante mapear a atual situação das atitudes dos enfermeiros de serviços de saúde frente às questões relacionadas ao álcool e as outras drogas, pois a constatação da persistência de atitudes negativas e das diferenças de atitudes entre os enfermeiros de serviços especializados e dos demais serviços leva à conclusão de que é urgente e necessário repensar as estratégias de formação e capacitação desses profissionais para lidar com a problemática do álcool e do alcoolismo, de modo que se minimizem as consequências indesejáveis.

The objective of the present work was to identify and to compare the nurses' attitudes from specialized services in alcohol and other drugs and from other services of health (Services of basic attention to the health, general Hospitals and Services of mental health) regarding alcohol, alcoholism and alcoholic. Were made a descriptive analysis of the informations social and demographics of the studied population and an analysis of the data obtained with the application of EAFAAA. With intention of verifying the nurse's attitude is affected by variables, as service type (specialized or no), clinical experience with dependents of alcohol and too much variables social and demographics, were made the tests no parametric of Mann-Whitney and Kruskal-Wallis. The sample of the study was composed by 526 nurses, 44 originating from of specialized Services in alcohol and drugs, 298 originating from of general Hospitals, 153 originating from of Services of basic attention to the health, and 31 originating from of Services of mental health, that presented attitudes negative front to the alcohol, to the alcoholism and to the alcoholic. However, the nurses originating from of the specialized services in alcohol and drugs, with preparation to act with the alcoholic and with larger time of profession presented less negative attitudes. It is important map the current situation of the attitudes of the nurses of services of health front to the subjects related to the alcohol and the other drugs, because the verification of the persistence of negative attitudes and of the differences of attitudes among the nurses from specialized services and from other services takes to the conclusion that it is urgent and necessary to rethink the formation strategies and those professionals' training to work with the problem of the alcohol and of the alcoholism, so that the undesirable consequences are minimized.
