Este estudo elegeu como objeto de investigação as práticas de trabalho da equipe multiprofissional de um Centro de Atenção Psicossocial (CAPS), tomando como referência o atual contexto de desenvolvimento da Reforma Psiquiátrica no Brasil. Foram traçados como objetivos a caracterização do perfil profissional dos trabalhadores, a identificação das concepções teóricas que orientam suas práticas e a análise de suas ações mediadas pelo saber-fazer, em relação às diretrizes estabelecidas pelas políticas públicas para a área de saúde mental e, em especial, para os serviços CAPS. A fundamentação teórico-metodológica utilizada foi o materialismo histórico e dialético que compreende a realidade social, os conhecimentos humanos e as práticas de trabalho como historicamente determinadas, e as contradições como necessárias aos processos de transformação e construção de novas formas de relação social. Os sujeitos da pesquisa foram profissionais com formação de 3.° grau e utilizou-se a entrevista semi-estruturada como técnica para a coleta dos dados e a hermenêutica-dialética como estratégia de apreensão da realidade Os trabalhadores apresentaram um percurso de formação profissional tradicional e a análise do material empírico permitiu visualizar que suas ações são norteadas, fundamentalmente, por concepções coerentes com o modelo hegemônico, em que há uma dicotomia entre saúde e doença mental, cujo objeto de trabalho é o indivíduo e sua doença, desvinculado do significado social atribuído à sua condição. A análise mostrou também que as relações entre o saber e o fazer apresentam coerência, em se tratando de intervenções tradicionais, resultando em práticas voltadas aos usuários do serviço e no interior da instituição. As ações que estariam dirigidas ao contexto concreto de vida desses usuários, além de pouco representativas, não encontram embasamento teórico nos saberes revelados e estariam fundamentadas no conhecimento advindo da própria prática e do senso comum. Desse modo, a representação dos trabalhadores, sobre o modelo de atenção CAPS, traduz as dificuldades encontradas à consolidação de um serviço substitutivo para as internações psiquiátricas e a um serviço articulado junto aos recursos territoriais, configurando-se, portanto, para a equipe em um problema da política de saúde mental, da qual eles não se vêem como atores. O estudo evidenciou a necessidade de revisão dos processos de trabalho da equipe, para possibilitar a construção de novos saberes, instrumentos e práticas, bem como o envolvimento dos trabalhadores enquanto atores sociais da Reforma.

This study elected as objective of investigation the practices of work of the multiprofessional staff of a Psychosocial Attention Center (CAPS), using the current context of the Psychiatric Reform development in Brazil as reference. The planned objectives were the characterization of the professional profile of the workers, the identification of the theorical conceptions that guide their practices and the analysis of their actions mediated by the know-how in relation to the rules established by the public policies for mental health area and especially for the CAPS’ services. The theoretical-methodological fundamentals used were the historical and dialectical materialism that comprehend the social reality, the human knowledge and the work practices as historically determined, and the contradictions as needed for the processes of transformation and construction of new forms of social relation. The subjects of the research were professionals with higher education and it was used the semi constructed interview as technique for the data collection and the dialectical-hermeneutic as strategy of aprehension of reality. The workers presented a way of traditional professional formation and the analysis of the empirical material permitted to visualize that their actions are guided fundamentaly by conceptions coherent with the hegemonic model, in which a dichotomy between mental health and disease exists, the object of work being the individual and his disease, without the link of the social meaning attributed to his condition. The analysis also showed that the relation between knowing and doing presents coherence, being a matter of traditional intervention, resulting in practices turned to the users of the service inside the institution. The actions that would be directed to the concrete context of their own lives, besides few representative, they do not find theoretical foundation in the revealed knowledge and they would be well founded in the knowledge resulted from the proper practice and the common sense. This way, the representation of the workers about the model of attention CAPS, translates the difficulties found for the consolidation of a substitutive service for the psychiatric internment and a service articulated to the territorial resources, resulting thus a problem of mental health policies for the staff from the service, who cannot see themselves as actors of the process. The study made clear the necessity of reviewing the processes of teamwork to make possible the construction of new knowledge, instruments and practices as well as the involvement of the workers as social actors of the Reform.
