A Promoção da Saúde representa um novo paradigma para a estruturação do cuidar e organização dos serviços da saúde visando à superação das práticas puramente curativas pelas que trabalham com os determinantes do processo de saúde-doença. Nesta visão, as ações educativas são indissociáveis das ações de saúde e devem possibilitar o empoderamento dos sujeitos. No Brasil, o Programa de Saúde da Família (PSF) surge em 1997 como uma estratégia de reversão do modelo de assistência à saúde vigente para a efetivação deste paradigma dentro Sistema Único de Saúde. Assim, este trabalho objetivou analisar o processo educativo estabelecido por equipes de saúde da família na atenção à saúde da criança. Para tanto, foi desenvolvida uma pesquisa qualitativa de estudo de caso fundamentada na Pedagogia Libertadora de Paulo Freire. A coleta de dados foi realizada por meio de entrevistas semi-estruturadas com enfermeiras e médicos de uma Unidade Básica de Saúde do PSF da região do Butantã; essas foram sistematizadas a partir da técnica do Discurso do Sujeito Coletivo. A análise dos dados indica a presença de uma diversidade de concepções e práticas de educação em saúde da criança, que abarcam desde uma visão de educação em saúde como uma prática democrática que visa o empoderamento dos sujeitos, a uma visão desta como transferência de informações de saúde do trabalhador para as famílias. Contudo, a maior parte da prática de educação em saúde da criança ocorre nas consultas individuais e tem por base a orientação para o cuidado, o que, muitas vezes, centra-se na prescrição e exposição de informações. Assim, a educação em saúde da criança no PSF identifica-se muito mais com o modelo biomédico de atenção a saúde, não contribuindo para o aumento do controle das famílias sobre o seu processo saúde-doença, nem para a emancipação dos sujeitos necessária a transformação social. A incorporação de processos educativos mais democráticos e coerentes com a promoção da saúde na realidade do PSF, necessita de uma formação permanente dos trabalhadores neste referencial e de uma reformulação do processo de trabalho

The Health Promotion represents a new paradigm for the caring structure and the health services organization aiming to overcome the purely curative practices for those that work with the determinants of the health-illness process. Based on this, the actions to educate are not separable of the health actions and must ensure the empowerment of the citizens. In Brazil, the Family Health Program appears in 1997 as a reversion strategy of the current assistance model to accomplish this paradigm inside the Brazilian Health System. Therefore, this papers target was to analyze the educative process established by teams of the family health in the attention towards the child. For this, a qualitative research of cases study was developed based on the Liberating Pedagogy of Paulo Freire. The datas collection was made by semi-structured interviews with nurses and doctors of a unit of the Family Health Program at the region of Butantã in the city of São Paulo; these had been systematized from the Speech of the Collective Citizens technique. The analysis of the data indicates a presence of diversity conceptions and practice of the education in the childs health; they enclose since a vision of education in health as one practical democratic that aims at the empowerment of the citizens, to a vision of this as health information transference of the worker for the families. However, most of practices of education in the childs health occurs on the individual consultations and has for base the orientation for the care, which, many times, center in the lapsing and exposition of information. Therefore, the education in the childs health at the PSF identifies much more with the biomedical model of attention, not contributing with the increase of the families control on their health-illness process or with the emancipation of the citizens necessary to the social transformation. The incorporation of a more democratic and coherent educative processes with the promotion of the health in the reality of the PSF, needs a permanent formation of the workers in this area and to reform the work process
