O autor estudou os serviços medicos de empresas industriais, com 100 ou mais empregados, localizadas em Salvador e no Centro industrial de Aratu, do ponto de vista de condições gerais e atividades de Medicina Ocupacional, em relação ao estabelecido pela recomendação nº 112 da OIT. Os dados foram obtidos através de questionário aplicado ao médico chefe de cada serviço. A análise estatística das respostas permitiu a obtenção de valores, cujas médias, demonstraram que os referidos serviços podem ser considerados como deficientes face ao recomendado pela OIT.

The author studied Health Services of industrial plants with 100 or more employees, in Salvador and Centro Industrial de Aratu, investigating their general conditions and activities in Occupational Health, and comparing them with norms set by ILO's recommendation 112. Data were obtained by applying a questionairs to the physician responsible for each service. Statistical analysis of the answers yelded values whose averages revealed that the services could de considered deficient in regard to the above mentioned norms.
