A presente pesquisa caracteriza-se como um estudo do tipo Estado da Arte e tem por objetivo central realizar um mapeamento da produção acadêmica em EA e Movimentos ambientalistas. Trata-se de uma pesquisa de natureza qualitativa, que se insere no âmbito de um projeto mais amplo interinstitucional Projeto EArte, que realiza um estudo do estado da arte da pesquisa em Educação Ambiental por meio da análise de dissertações e teses brasileiras. Buscando a relação existente entre a pesquisa em Educação Ambiental e os movimentos ambientalistas nestes trabalhos, esta pesquisa analisou as fichas de classificação e resumo das teses e dissertações do banco do Projeto EArte que foram classificadas com o tema de estudo movimentos sociais/movimentos ambientalistas, totalizando 57 trabalhos. Buscou-se caracterizá-las em relação aos seus aspectos autorais, institucionais, educacionais e de pesquisa. Com relação a análise das fichas de classificação, foi possível verificar um grande números de trabalhos de mestrado realizados em universidades públicas na área de sociologia, em programas de Educação e de EA. Pela análise dos resumos foi possível verificar uma pluralidade de pesquisas, com enfoque de análise diferenciado e o domínio da utilização do termo movimento ambientalista em relação a outros termos como movimento ecológico e ambientalismo, assim como a ausência da terminologia ecologismo na busca no título, palavras-chaves e resumo.

The present research is characterized as a state-of-art study and its main objective is to map the academic production in EA and Environmental Movements. This is a research of a qualitative nature, which is part of a larger inter-institutional project - Project EArte, which carries out a study of the state of the art in Environmental Education research through the analysis of Brazilian theses and dissertations. Seeking the relationship between the research in Environmental Education and the environmental movements in these works, this research analyzed the classification and summary records of the theses and dissertations of the bank of the EArte Project that were classified with the theme of social movements / environmental movements study, totalizing 57 works. We sought to characterize them in relation to their authorship, institutional, educational and research aspects. With regard to the analysis of the classification cards, it was possible to verify a large number of master's studies carried out in public universities in the area of sociology, in Education and AE programs. Through the analysis of the abstracts it was possible to verify a plurality of researches, with a focus on differential analysis and the domain of the use of the term environmental movement in relation to other terms such as ecological movement and environmentalism, as well as the absence of the terminology ecologism in the title search, words Keys and resume.
