Abstract in English
The scientific environment in dentistry is always searching for materials and treatments more predictable and which presented a long-term success. The aim of this study was to evaluate by photoelastic analysis, the stresses behavior generated by loads applied to the implant prosthesis posterior between or not to teeth. All implants Morse taper used (Ankylos®,Dentsply Implants) with 3.5mm x 9.5mm. The teeth were made by Luxatemp resin and ceramic crowns were fabricated. Three models containing tooth - implant - tooth were built, meanwhile each model had the implant in different height from the marginal bone crestal level (equicrestal, 1.5mm and 3.0 mm the crest). Subsequently, other three models were made with the same characteristics, but without the second molar and another three models just with the implant in position. Models witch three elements with axial loading (balanced occlusion) had tensions with direction to the apical region as the implant had become more subcristal , models with two elements with axial loading ( balanced occlusion ) , models with single implants with axial loading ( central point ) , models with single implants with axial loading (distal point ) and models with single implant with no axial loading (buccal - lingual) also showed the same behavior with respect to the direction of the stresses to the apical region. The differentiation between the models was only observed for the intensity of the stresses in some regions. Thus it can be concluded that the more the implant is subcristal lower the tension in the crystal region regardless of the presence or absence of adjacent teeth, and the presence of adjacent teeth prosthesis on the implant influence on the stress intensity generated in the implants but no influence on the direction of these stresses.
