Abstract in English
This monography relates and discusses concepts, terminology, and theoretical implications of a Complete Medical Images Visualization System. Its implementation has been idealized to serve hospitals and other medical institutions, for it is inserted in this context as an auxiliary tool for diagnosis; from image acquisition process to treatment and visualizing. It is important to highlight multidisciplinarity used for the complete development of this work, in which image transference among computers (both local and remote), where the TCP/IP protocols set was used, image processing for improving images presentation and computer graphics in two or three dimensions visualization were emphasised. Voxel and Linear Octree structures along with convolution and filtering techniques were the means found and adopted as basic structures for medical data storage and manipulation whose implementation employs easy and friendly interface for medical professionals. The system developed in this work also be used as part of a PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System).
