Abstract in English
The aim of this study was to evaluate the possible reflexes of the anomalies detected in the functionality of the oral cavity and evaluate the buccal health of the patients with the sequence of Moebius. In the evaluation odontopediatric were examined 42 patient of the Clinic of Neuropediatrics of the ICr/HCFMUSP, 17 boys and 25 girls, between 2 months and 17 years, at the clinical exam was made without instruments, photos and complemental exams, following a protocol previously structured. Some parameters were not observed in all the patients. Starting from the evaluation odontopediatric, in the 42 examined patients was verified that 39 if they fed orally and three for gastrostomy. The type of ingested food was exclusively pasty in three patient, pasty and in pieces in 13 patient, exclusively in pieces in 13, pasty and liquid (feeding bottle) in seven and exclusive feeding bottle in four. Most of the patients presented some degree of atrophy of the language (94%, n=33 patient) and in four it was fixed in the floor of the mouth. In the moment of the evaluation the bite was opened in 15 patient and, as for the occlusion relationship, 11 were retrognats and 15 micrognats. In 33 patient the palate was ogival. Among the dental alterations and of the soft tissue 14 had carie in advanced state and with apparent cavitations, 25 gengivite with spontaneous bleening after brushing and four periodontite with with serious bone loss. Two patients presented dental agenesy; one of them with fused tooth and other with uvula absence. For the fact of the embryological period of the buccal cavity, of the chronology and formation sequence and dental eruption to coincide with the temporary window in that they install the anomalies of the Sequence, the results obtained in the present researches allow to draw a profile of the dentofacial characteristics in SM, as well as of the involved buccal diseases, providing important contributions in the sense of analyzing the full spectrum of SM.
