Este estudo se insere na temática da assistência à infância partindo de um questionamento disparador como se dá o desdobramento de grupos de irmãos em medida protetiva? para adensar a investigação sobre a produção desse campo. O estranhamento inicial incidiu nos casos em que um grupo de irmãos é separado em prol da adoção de uma de suas partes, entendendo que há uma escolha feita nessas situações que pode nos dizer de seu funcionamento discursivo. A separação de irmãos, ao longo desta pesquisa, tornou-se um analisador, de tal forma que histórias de separação são trazidas durante o texto como pontos de articulação que permitem o olhar para os saberes que estão em jogo no campo e a efetuação de suas práticas. Assim, o percurso investigativo é visto na conjugação da produção histórica e sua atuação no presente, a partir da análise de documentos que versam sobre a assistência à infância e o tensionamento de tais descobertas com a prática atual. Buscando, com isso, compor com a desmistificação (ou desnaturalização) de concepções cristalizadas, como a gratidão esperada em processos de adoção e a culpabilização das famílias de origem. Este estudo não produz uma resposta e, muito menos, encerra o dilema sobre o desmembramento dos grupos de irmãos. A intenção, todavia, é a de abrir questões, provocando o inventivo de novas possibilidades

This study its inserted in the theme of child care and based on a trigger question - how does the unfolding of sibling groups to a protective measure occur? to further research the production of this field. The initial strangeness appears in cases where a siblings group is separated in favor of the adoption of one of them. Of these situations what can be understood as a choice tell us of its discursive functioning. The separation of siblings, throughout this research, became an analyzer. Stories of separation brought during the text as points of articulation allow a look into the knowledge that is at stake in the field and into the realization of its practices. Thus, our investigative path is seen in the combination of the historical production of our performance in the present, from the analysis of documents that deal with child care and the tensioning of such discoveries with our current practice. Looking for, with this process, compose with the demystification (or denaturation) of crystallized conceptions, such as the gratitude expected in adoption processes and the blame of families of origin. This study does not produce an answer and, less, it ends the dilemma about the dismemberment of sibling groups. The intention, however, is to open up questions, provoking the invention of new possibilities
