No que tange à adoção, a importância do vínculo fraterno se faz continuamente presente nos processos que envolvem fratrias, que resulta no último elo entre crianças que são afastadas de sua família de origem. Assim, a relação entre irmãos levanta diversas dúvidas e questionamentos entre os profissionais envolvidos nesse processo, principalmente no momento de decidir sobre o destino de cada um deles. No Brasil, com a Nova Lei da Adoção e a priorização dos vínculos fraternos, existe uma demanda cada vez maior no sentido de um aprofundamento no estudo desses vínculos e seu papel na estruturação do psiquismo frente à ruptura familiar. Sob essa perspectiva, objetivamos analisar a trajetória de irmãos frente aos processos de medida protetiva, destituição do poder familiar e adoção, bem como a reflexão acerca das decisões constantes dos autos correlacionadas às leis vigentes; tendo como base um levantamento bibliográfico sobre o tema e a pesquisa documental junto aos processos de adoção do grupo de irmãos realizados na última década (2007 a 2016), numa determinada Vara da Infância e Juventude de Mato Grosso do Sul. Os dados obtidos foram tratados por meio da análise de conteúdo e discutidos com base no referencial teórico psicanalítico. Foram acompanhados 64 grupos, que corresponderam a 227 crianças. Os resultados indicaram que apesar da relação de inveja, ciúme e rivalidade entre irmãos, ficou evidente a importância da função fraterna continente, de cuidado, de proteção e de referência quanto ao que restou da família de origem. Desse modo, a menos que haja claras contraindicações para a separação, ficou evidente que as adoções conjuntas ou fragmentadas, promoveram igual ou maior estabilidade na construção dos novos vínculos quando comparadas às individuais. Além disso, o perfil dos adotantes mostrou ser importante variável nas adoções de irmãos, reforçando a imprescindível preparação e o amadurecimento dessa decisão para os futuros pais e, de igual modo, para os irmãos. Nesse sentido, o reconhecimento da singularidade e das diferenças de cada irmão que compõem a fratria precisam ser avaliadas e compreendidas na tomada de decisões, que prioritariamente devem ser baseadas nas necessidades das crianças/adolescentes e não na conveniência administrativa ou na dificuldade de se encontrarem lares, razão por que a medida deve ser analisada caso a caso

With regard to the adoption, the importance of the fraternal link is continually present in processes that involve brotherhood, which results in the last link between children who are estranged from their birth family. Thus, the relationship between siblings raises several doubts and questions among the professionals involved in this process, especially at the moment of deciding the fate of each one of them. In Brazil, with the New Law of Adoption and prioritization of fraternal links, there is a growing demand in order to deepening this studies and its role in the structuring of the psyche in front of family breakdown. So, this research aims to analyze the trajectory of brothers before the processes of protective measure, removal of family power and adoption as well as the reflection about the decisions contained in the record correlated to the laws; based on a bibliographical survey of this theme and a documentary research in the process of brothers adoption group made in last decade (2007 to 2016) on the Child and Youth Court in Campo Grande-MS. The data obtained were processed through content analysis and discussed based on psychoanalytic theoretical framework. A total of 64 groups were followed, corresponding to 227 children. The results indicated that despite the envy, jealousy and sibling rivalry, it was evident the importance of fraternal continent function, care, protection and reference of birth family remaining, became evident. Thus, unless clear contraindications for separation, the research suggests the joint or fragmented placements are equally or more stable than individual adoptions. In addition, the profile of adopters proved to be important variable in adoptions of siblings, reinforcing the essential preparation and maturation on this decision for prospective parents and, likewise, for the siblings. In this sense, recognition the singularity and the differences of each one who composes the brotherhood must be evaluated and understood in order to find reasons that legitimize decisions that must be based, primarily, on the needs of children/ adolescents and not on administrative convenience or in difficulty to find homes, reason why it should be analyzed case-by-case
