Abstract in English
This research has as its objective to understand the conditions that facilitate the process of acquisition and development of the ability to read by means of the relationships that are established between students, teachers, coordinator, director and parents. And to reflect on how the performed actions interfered or interfere in the attitudes of the development of this ability, having as basis the Winnicott contributions. The reading theme gains visibility as a cultural phenomenon, questioning the type of provider environment such that the reading comes to be. Provider environment is the one that surrounds, nourishes and takes care of the human being under development mother, family, school, society, worldP The field of investigation was the public school, having the focus on inter-human relationship that allowed the students from the fifth to the eighth series/grades to express what they thought about reading, through the means of an intermediary object questionnaire. The human being may have reading as ability, being its user and creator and may find in it a path to place his human condition in coming to be. To be and not to be a reader, a paradox sustained to promote readings of life, from the metaphorical to those of a specific alphabetical code, giving the individual the conditions for personal enrichment and of traveling through the potential space, whilst at the same time enabling him to participate of and in culture as an active reader. Not being a reader hinders the access to the cultural estate left by humanity and to the human condition of making use of reading as a creative being, social, free and a citizen
