O presente trabalho é uma reflexão sobre os objetivos da Educação Infantil, e considera com prioridade a superação do problema da violência. No mundo dominado pelo poder econômico o maior inimigo é a pobreza, a qual se constitui também como forma de violência. É preciso considerar a frieza que se propaga nas relações humanas. O referencial teórico utilizado baseia-se fundamentalmente nos trabalhos de Theodor W. Adorno. A experiência da Creche Oeste - Coseas/USP serve como base para a reflexão. Trata-se de uma proposta educativa que pretende promover o acesso amplo e efetivo à cultura, a formação de cidadãos, e que propõe a convivência entre crianças de diferentes classes sociais. E é em meio a estes objetivos e todas as contradições que a realidade traz, e que envolvem crianças, pais e funcionários, que se propõe formas para a consideração da experiência tendo em vista a superação da violência, que deve, nesse momento, constituir-se como o principal objetivo a nortear a ação educativa

The present work is a consideration on the aims of child education and considers with priority the overcoming of the violence problem. In a world ruled by economical power the biggest enemy is poverty, which also constitutes a form of violence. It is necessary to consider the coldness that spreads itself in human relations. The used theoretical reference is mainly based on the works of Theodor W. Adorno. The experience of Creche Oeste­ Coseas/USP serves as a basis for these considerations. It is an educational proposal which intends to promote the wide and effective access to culture, to citizen formation, and suggests sociability among children of different social classes(ranks) . And, it's in the middle of these aims and ali the contradictions that reality brings, which involve children, parents ans employees, that forms for consideration of the experience are proposed, having in view the overcoming of violence, which at this moment has to be the main purpose to lead the educational action
