Abstract in English
The Namorado field, discovered in 1975, is situatedon the continental shelf of the Campos Basin, lying approximately 80kmfrom the mainland and in a water depth of approximately 200m. The reservoir consists of turbidite sandstones of Albian-Cenomanian age, in units ranging from -2500m to -3000m. This reservoir has excelent Permo-porous features, being one of the most important oil plays of this basin in the 70's In this master dissertation, is proposed the application of object based stochastic simulation to characterize the depositional architecture of turbidite reservoirs. The methodology applied in this work involves petrophysics techniques (GR, Resistivity, Density and Porosity),turbidite depositional systems and geostatistics. From the petrophysical interpretation of profiles,it was possible to characterize the reservoir in three main lithologies (Sandstone, Shale and Limestone). With this information, a Boolean database was gerated, being 1 assigned to sandstones (reservoir) and 0 assigned to non-reservoir lithologies (shale and limestone). The Boolean simulation method chosen to perform the simulations in Isatis ® program, used the data generated by petrophysical interpretation and parameters obtained through studies of depositionalarchitecture of turbidite bodies. As result was obtained a 3D set of one hundred stochastic simulations based on objects that have the same probability of occurrence. These simulations show the depositional architecture of sandstones (reservoir) turbidite of Namorado Field in the Campos Basin. This study demonstrates great use for the oil industry, because by providing probabilities of occurrence greater than 50% (much higher than the percentage of accuracy in exploratory wells), the savings with the location of wells in this best known areas would be of great importance for the financial health of oil companies, since the location of wells involve high costs.
