Abstract in English
Five nsutite samples of diferente compositions were synthesized form oxidation (purê O2 gas) of Mn 2+ sulfuric solutions, and addition of base, under normal temperatire and pressure conditions. The following Gibbs free energies of formation were determined from the experiments. The 'G° IND. F,298, nsutita' is a linear function of the number of Mn(III) and Mn (IV) atoms in the formula as following: 'G° IND. F,298, nsutite' = -966,152 ''eta' IND. Mn (III)' -541,118 ('capa' 'Jmol POT.-1') 'G° IND. F,298, nsutite' = -966,152 ''eta' IND. Mn (IV)' -1.507,270 ('capa' 'Jmol POT.-1'). The correlations among Mn(III), Mn(IV) and H2O allow to define the analytical formula of na ideal nsutite (MnO2 0,02 H2O) and its correspondente 'delta' 'G° IND. F,298'. Thermodynamic field of stability between this mineral and 'Mn POT.2+' in solution were constructed in a pH-Eh diagram. Paragenetic considerations on the coexistence of nsutite and other minerals were discussed.
