Keywords in Portuguese
Hidrogeologia
Lorena (SP)

Abstract in English
The municipality of Lorena, on East part of São Paulo State, with an area of 416 km², is surrounded by Mantiqueira Range at North and Mar Range to South. In the middle occurs the Paraíba river Valley. All the area studied has 1.400 km² and its part from topographic maps of Lorena, Cruzeiro, Guaratinguetá, Campos de Cunha and Delfim Moreira. The generation of thematic maps from geology and hydrogeology with scale 1:50.000 will contribute to knowledge of regional hydrogeology from sedimentary Basin of Taubaté, with Tertiary age. Present guidelines about future drilling wells, considering database including hydrogeologic parameters at Lorena region. The interpretation and analysis from great number of technical and historical data will give a basement from decisions that take care the sustainable development from this important aquifer. Give guidelines from general character focusing preservation from future generations. The aquifer that occurs at this area has high potential with very good numbers of specific yield varying from 4 to 10 m³/h.m, measured from 21 wells operated by Sabesp for public supply. It was measured lowering from static level - from 30 to 40 m - in a central area from Lorena city, by overexploitation during the last 25 years, increasing a tendency caused by use. The database generated thematic maps from geology and hydrogeology, giving a great number of information to support integrated management from surface and groundwater resources.
