Fenomenologia

Abstract in English
Practiced for centuries in the Middle East and recently known to Westerners, belly dancing has been conquering space in the lives of women around the world. However, beyond the limits of schools and events, the notions of belly dancing are based on fantasies, sometimes restricted, about arab culture and in a limited view of its practice. In Brazil, there are few academic studies that help us to understand what leads so many women to become involved in belly dancing, keeping their traditions alive, in realities that are geographically and culturally distant from the roots of this dance. The general objective of this research is to investigate factors related to human movement present in the belly dance, taking into account its symbolic and expressive aspects. The specific objectives are: to investigate the historical and cultural context related to the origin and diffusion of dance, and to identify the movements contained in the practice and their factors of re-union and heredity, through a symbolic perspective. For this reason, the approach of this project is phenomenological to understand dance in general terms, as a visible and qualitative movement, deepened in the phenomenology of imagination to think belly dance specifically. This work presents a bibliographical review on the theme of dance and a study of the experience that counts on interviews, images and records of the field research. The final text establishes the dialogue between the material coming from the field research and the theoretical reference
