Abstract in English
In this work multilayer graphene (MLG) was obtained through direct sonication of graphite in N-methyl-2-pirrolidone (NMP) using probe sonicator in the presence of polystyrene-block-polybutadiene-block-polystyrene (SBS). The nanocomposite of SBS with 12.4 wt% GMC was produced by co-coagulation and further thermally processed in a twin-screw extruder with more SBS to obtain nanocomposites with 0.5 wt% and 1.0 wt% GMC. Transmission Electronic Microscopy (TEM) and Scanning Electronic Microscopy (SEM) has shown individuals graphene layers and MLG well dispersed in the polymer matrix. The Infrared Spectra (FTIR) suggested a good interaction between graphene and the polystyrene (PS) blocks, which may have improved the exfoliation process. The thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) demonstrated a good efficiency in the process. Tensile and hardness tests indicate the reinforcement effect of MLG in the nanocomposite. The few steps process developed in this work using few reagents had been shown as a promising large-scale process to produce graphene nanocomposites.
