Abstract in English
The present work intends to investigate the notions of Brazilian contemporary dance presented in specialized audiovisual journalism, through the analysis of the Corpos Series exhibited by the Starte program, on the thematic channel GloboNews, in April 2014 in celebration of International Dance Day. We understand the media as a fundamental institution in the formation of public opinion regarding cultural productions and, therefore, legitimating dance as a form of expression, and representative of a national cultural identity. We consider the individuality of each of the four episodes and the series as a cohesive set, observing the relations established between its parts. Moreover, we analyze the possibilities of narrative construction of journalism on television and its capacity for critical depth when discussing artistic productions
