Abstract in English
This document reviews a historical and current debate on machine creativity, with contributions from many scientists, philosophers and artists. The field of Artificial Intelligence proposes technologies of optimization and prediction, used today in computational systems which generate visual works from probabilistic learning on art history, renewing discussions about making and thinking art. The research also reports the development of the Extentio software, extension of an artistic intelligence. Extentio generates automated drawings, through simulations of observation, of tracing and composition analysis, making use of Computer Vision and Machine Learning technologies. It is a machine which is not creative by itself, but that interferes in a creative process in a propositive way, leading the artist to discoveries of poetic values and new designs. The artist directs the behaviors of such system through experimental practice with code and data, in a relationship of mutual evolution.
