Considerando-se que, para se alcançar a excelência na performance de qualquer obra musical é preciso não apenas conhecer a peça e praticá-la tecnicamente, mas também analisá-la sob várias perspectivas, este trabalho de pesquisa buscou abordar aspectos que possibilitem ao intérprete conhecer o poemeto lírico Ofélia no que tange a seu compositor, à origem do gênero da canção, aos aspectos literários que envolvem os poemas utilizados por Oswald e à maneira pela qual tais elementos podem auxiliar na performance dessas canções. A metodologia utilizada para a realização deste trabalho de pesquisa consistiu basicamente nos seguintes elementos: a leitura de fontes literárias específicas sobre os aspectos abordados e a análise dos elementos textuais e musicais, embasadas nas referências bibliográficas escolhidas. Como resultado da pesquisa, construiu-se quatro partes distintas, sendo que a primeira trata da biografia do compositor e sua trajetória composicional, a segunda aborda a canção e sua origem e desenvolvimento como gênero, a terceira abarca os aspectos poéticos da obra escolhida e no quarto, os elementos citados confluem-se para auxiliar na busca de uma performance coerente.

Taking into consideration that in order to reach excellence when performing any musical fragment is not only necessary to know and practice it, but also to analyse all perspectives; this paper aims at discussing aspects which enable the interpreter to learn more the songs of Ophelia as far as its composer, its genre and its literary aspects are concerned as well as the way such aspects can help in the performance of such songs. The methodology used in this research paper consists of the following elements: reading on specific source books and the analyses of text and musical elements based on the chosen biography. As a result of the research, this paper was consisted of four parts: the first related to the composers biography, the second talks about the lied itself and its general origin, the third refers to poetic aspects of the presented work and the fourth where all the mentioned elements are mixed together so to help in the search and for a coherent performance.
