Abstract in English
The guitar works of Claudio Santoro (1919-1989) are representative pieces of an important part of the Brazilian concert repertoire for the instrument, formed by the contribution from composers that are not formerly guitar players. This part of the repertoire is often forgotten by most interpreters on the instrument and, consequently, by most of the public as well. The present study deals with the idiomatic complexities in the guitar work of Claudio Santoro and suggests technical solutions for performance. In order to accomplish this, a musical analysis of the pieces was elaborated, as well as interviews with the main interpreters of the guitar work of Claudio Santoro. Also an investigation on the compositional context of the pieces and accurate confrontation between manuscripts and edited scores provide here an enlightened view of Santoro's guitar music.
