Abstract in English
This study, which starts in the early decades of the XX century seeks to analyze the movements and the self-denominates artistic vanguards, the architecture of the modern movement, the Bauhaus school in the period between the First and the Second Great World Wars, the projects for a collective architecture, in which the art and culture concepts are integrated to society. We believe that one of the bridges binding this European vanguard to Brazil is the theater, by means of playwritings and acting by artists that were part of these vanguards; by means of the architecture and art concepts - folklore, art and design. The architect Lina Bo Bardi, a woman from the second post-war period, third generation of the modern architecture, intellectually articulate that holds a perfect harmony between the object of architecture and the protection of the popular and historical cultures, acted in the creation of the Modern Museum of Art of Bahia (1959-1964) and of Teatro Oficina (1984). She went through the Brazilian historic point in time, which included possible desires and, subsequently, the ruin of so many shared dreams (1958-1964). The trajectory in this period, the relations with the theater and the intellectual artists in this path, and the subsequent retake, in 1968, along with Teatro Oficina and its director, José Celso Martinez. The hypothesis discussed in this work is of mutually supplementary actions, esthetic options and policies created by the artists involved. Here, we attempt to demonstrate the harmony between the artistic vanguards in the beginning of the XX century and the contemporary Brazil, as the responsible for accomplishments preceding the esthetic and policies experimentation.
