O tema desta pesquisa é o auto-retrato. Para sua realização foram usados três meios: pintura, fotografia e projeto gráfico. A pesquisa tem como ponto de partida estabelecer relações entre pintura como meio de representação (subjetividade + fenomenologia) e a fotografia como um meio indicativo (subjetividade + máquina/programa)1. Além de reforçar as questões relativas à auto-representação e à produção da própria imagem, o projeto faz um paralelo entre o auto-retrato pintado e o auto-retrato fotografado, buscando circunscrever as especificidades de cada um desses meios. Um conjunto de regras fixas e um método operacional foram determinados para a execução dos auto-retratos. Faz parte do corpus do projeto a construção de um livro (com o conjunto das imagens produzidas pelo meio fotográfico), juntamente com a execução da instalação composta pelos 238 auto-retratos pintados. The main subject of this research is the self-portrait. Three methods have been used to accomplish it: Painting, photography and graphic design. The aim of the research is to establish relations between the painting as a method of representation (subjectivity + phenomenology) and the photography as an indicative method (subjectivity + machine/program)*. In addition to supporting the questions relative to self-representation and the production of ones self image, the project creates a link between the selfportrait as a painting and the self-portrait as a photo while attempting to enclose the specifications of each method. Certain fixed rules and a whole operational method has been established for the creation of the selfportraits. Another section of the project is the assembling of a book (with the entire collection of images produced using the photographic method), together with the creation of the installation composed by 238 self-portrait paintings.
