Abstract in English
The Family Health Program (PSF) has adopted as its motto the promotion and access to health by all individuals, focusing mainly on the social groups that are more deprived of attention. The main objective of this study was to implement a model of Family Health Program for the undergraduation curriculum of the Faculty of Dentistry of Bauru of the University of São Paulo (FOB-USP). This Program, which was called "PSF-Universidade", served 52 families of children who had signed up at the Casa do Garoto, Bauru/SP. It was based on the tenets of Dentistry and Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences as well as focusing on giving the proper attention to health as followed by SUS, which, in turn, is based on university life routine. The work plan consisted of a selection of a sample, registration and a listing of needs, planning and carrying out of actions as well as a follow-up at the clinics of the FOB-USP. The data collected were analyzed in a descriptive manner by means of distribution of absolute and relative frequencies, with the results presented in graphs and tables for better visualization. The results showed that the average income of the visited families was R$ 645,39 and per capita R$ 154,71; as regards the odontological profile, the CPOD (index of teeth with cavities, lost or filled) of the students was 1.81 and non-students 2.13; the index of students free of cavities was 31.55%.The phonoaudiological conditions, that is, the investigation of the aspects related to the orofacial motricity, voice, hearing and oral language was within normalcy, with only written language presenting itself as inadequate.180 participants were sent for follow-up at the odontological clinics of the FOB-USP, of whom 122 initiated treatments. The degree of satisfaction of the families was measured 3 months after the visits by means of grades attributed to the program, which obtained 9.41.According to the results obtained, it can be concluded that the program developed has allowed the opening of new doors of access to the population in need of public health services.
