A atividade ilícita profissional ainda constitui uma preocupação na área odontológica, sendo observada de diversas formas na sociedade. O presente trabalho justifica-se por propiciar à classe odontológica e à comunidade em geral uma melhor visão deste problema, permitindo um melhor posicionamento das autoridades pertinentes. Desta maneira, o estudo tem como objetivo realizar uma análise do conhecimento de acadêmicos e entidades promotoras de cursos de aperfeiçoamento e/ou especialização, no município de Bauru-SP, complementada por uma consulta aos Magistrados, sobre a atividade ilícita profissional. Observou-se um conhecimento superficial da inter-relação entre as situações do cotidiano e a deontologia específica por parte de acadêmicos, diferentemente das entidades e Magistrados que apresentaram um bom nível de conhecimento. Conclui-se que há a necessidade de uma maior ênfase aos aspectos da atividade ilícita em Odontologia, seja no ensino da graduação ou pósgraduação, bem como uma melhor regulamentação pelas autoridades pertinentes.

The illicit professional activity still composes a concern in Dentistry, being observed on varied forms in the society. The present study is justified by provide to Dentistry and to the general community a better sight of this problem, allowing an improvement in the authorities’ attitude. In this way, the study aimed to do an analysis of the knowledge of the university students and entities promoter of improving’s and/or specializing’s courses, in Bauru- SP, complemented by a consultation to the Magistrates, about illicit professional activity. The results showed a superficial knowledge of the university students on the inter-relationship between the quotidian’s situation and the specifical Deontology, differently of the entities and the Magistrates that expressed a good level of knowledge. It was possible to conclude that there is a need of a larger emphasis in this issue, such in the graduation as in the post-graduation courses, as well as a better regulation by the authorities.
