Clinical simulation has been a very effective teaching strategy in the Health Field. However, the Portuguese language lacks instruments that could help measure the aspects of this teaching strategy, as well as the structure and perception of learners. So this paper aims to validate four American scales to Portuguese : 1) Student Satisfaction and Self-Confidence in Learning, 2) Debriefing Experience Scale, 3) Simulation Design and Scale 4) Educational Practices Questionnaire. After the consent of the original authors and approval of the Research Ethics Committee of Nursing School of Ribeirão Preto / USP (294,206 / 2013), the first stage of this study consisted mainly of translation and back-translation of the instruments, during which the criteria proposed by Ferrer et al were followed. The scales were called - 1) Escala de Satisfação de Estudantes e Autoconfiança na Aprendizagem, 2) Escala de Experiência com o Debriefing, 3) Escala de Design da Simulação and 4) Questionário de Práticas Educativas- in Portuguese. For the second stage, validation of instruments, the Nursing school of Ribeirão Preto and the Nursing School of Coimbra, Portugal held the "III Workshop Brazil - Portugal: care to critical patients, "The three-day-long event was attended by 103 participants, and covered the same programme between 08:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. The participants of this workshop were invited to take part in the research and expressed their acceptance by signing the Informed Consent Form. An instrument with the following variables: age, sex, year of completion of graduation, years of experience, training, employment and experience with simulated teaching was developed in order to characterise the subject. As a teaching and learning methodology we chose to use the low, medium and high fidelity simulation, and simulated patient throughout the workshop. After completing all the stages of the event, the participants were asked to respond to these four instruments. Psychometric testing showed a high correlation between the variables and a good sample adequacy for all instruments. The total explained variance was divergent from the original studies for the four instruments, suggesting that the scales as well as factor analysis could be divided into other factors. It has been decided, due to the absence of nexus between the mathematical groups, to keep the original division of the factors of each article, as well as the distribution of the items. Other tests show that the scales have good potential for use. The sample size and its specificity are some recognized limitations of this study, but future research will help to consolidate the validity of the instruments and strengthen its potential use
