Abstract in English
The present work studied the affective bonds between psychotic parents and their offspring based on the children´s discourse. We had interest in understanding what signification the adult children give to their parents´ way of loving and dealing with them, to the genitors psychological problematic, the perception of subjective transmission between the generations and what the consequences in their lives are. Ten adult children of the psychotic patients assisted in the Mental Health Ambulatory or in Bipolar Patients Groups from the Day Clinical Hospital of Ribeirão Preto - USP were interviewed. The interviews were semi-structured, recorded transcribed and evaluated by the method of analysis contents which had Lacan psychoanalysis as theoretical interpretative mark. The results showed that in the childrens´ discourse, the signification given to the genitors has invariably what we name as ´signs of excess´, invasion, intransigence, rigidity, lack of control, aggressiveness and others signified by the interviewees as a non-recognition of their subjective condition and experienced with feelings of bitterness and resentment. However, we noticed that this subjective localizations of the parents didn´t lead to a superegoic imperative swelling in these subjects. The signification "the mentally ill" was present in all the interviews but it didn´t prove to be a good symbolic mediator among the subjects, increasing their ambivalences. We even identified a direct relation between the preponderance of the signification "the mentally ill" in the discourse and the interviewees´ incapability of recognizing an intergenerational subjective transmission. Based on these data we questioned the psycho-educational approaches centered on the idea of mental illness what makes it necessary to have approaches that increase the value of intersubjective.
