A atual proposta de reestruturação dos serviços de saúde mental no país tem o compromisso de prestar assistência integral e resolutiva, por meio de equipes interdisciplinares, a toda a população. Este estudo teve por objetivo Identificar o perfil dos profissionais que atuam nos serviços de saúde mental de Uberlândia, conhecer as atividades desenvolvidas nestas equipes e sua opinião sobre a aplicação das políticas de saúde mental. Metodologia: Trata-se de pesquisa exploratório descritiva. Faz parte de um amplo projeto, desenvolvido por pesquisadores do Departamento de Enfermagem Psiquiátrica e Ciências Humanas - EERP USP. Participaram do estudo 51 dos 135 profissionais de ensino superior que atuam nos serviços de saúde mental do município de Uberlândia. Para a coleta dos dados, utilizou-se um roteiro com duas partes: 1- informações de identificação, formação e sobre as praticas desenvolvidas pelos sujeitos nos serviços; 2- questões sobre politicas e formação em saúde mental. Os dados foram analisados pelo STATA para encontrar prováveis associações entre variáveis. O Teste exato de Fisher foi utilizado para analisar a não resposta. Resultados e Discussão: Dos 135 funcionários de nível superior de 09 serviços locais (01 enfermaria, 01 ambulatório, 01 Centro de Convivência e 06 CAPS) foram entrevistados 51, no período de janeiro a agosto de 2013. Em um dos CAPS todos (25) profissionais recusaram-se a participar. A maior parte dos profissionais que atuam nos serviços de saúde mental são psicólogos (45,2%), do sexo feminino (71,8%). A categoria com maior jornada e experiência de atuação na área também é a psicologia, com 63% tendo 10 anos ou mais de formados e 37,3% com mais de 15 anos. A categoria médica é a que predomina com 60 horas semanais de trabalho. Apenas 37,3% dos participantes possuem especialização em saúde mental, sendo predominante a categoria médica. A categoria de psicologia é a que tem menor remuneração (52,9%) o que pode explicar a maior quantidade desses profissionais atuando em mais de um serviço. Os psicólogos também predominam no atendimento a famílias, utilizando a abordagem psicanalítica. 25% dos profissionais afirmaram realizar a administração de medicação, sendo 01 deles psicólogo, 10 enfermeiros e 02 médicos. Ações para promover autonomia do paciente são realizadas por 80% dos participantes, sendo que 61% afirmam realizá-la após alta do paciente e apenas 39% afirmaram promovê-las durante toda a permanência do paciente na instituição. Pouco mais de um terço dos participantes considera que a instituição onde trabalha segue totalmente as politicas em saúde mental. A atuação da enfermagem em saúde mental é satisfatória para 45,1% dos participantes. 55% dos participantes considera que há falha na formação profissional de sua categoria tal como já foi evidenciado em estudos anteriores. Conclusão: Esse estudo possibilitou conhecer o perfil e a caracterização das equipes dos serviços de saúde mental do município de Uberlândia. Confirmou-se que os dispositivos de base comunitária em saúde mental enfrentam muitas dificuldades e, a maioria não consegue seguir as políticas preconizadas pelo Ministério da Saúde

The current proposal for restructuring of mental health services in the country is committed to provide integral and effective assistance through interdisciplinary teams, to the entire population. This study aimed to identify the profile of the professionals working in the mental health services of Uberlândia, knowing the activities of these team and their opinion on the implementation of mental health policies. Methodology: This is a descriptive exploratory research. It is part of a larger project, developed by researchers at the Department of Psychiatric Nursing and Human Sciences - USP EERP. The study included 51 of 135 higher education professionals working in mental health services in the city of Uberlândia. For collect the data, a script with two part was used: 1 - identifying information, education and on the practices developed by the subjects in services; 2 - questions about policies and training in mental health. Data were analyzed by STATA to find associations between variables. The Fisher exact test was used to analyze non- response. Results and Discussion: Of the 135 senior level officials from 09 local offices (01 ward, 01 outpatient, 01 Treatment Center and 06 CAPS) 51 were interviewed in the period January to August 2013. In one of the CAPS (25) all professionals refused to participate. Most professionals working in mental health services are psychologists (45.2 %), female (71.8 %). The category with the greatest journey and experience working in the field is also psychology, with 63 % have 10 years or more of graduates and 37.3 % over 15 years. The medical profession is the predominant 60-hour working per week. Only 37.3 % of participants have expertise in mental health, with prevailing medical category. The category of psychology is that with lower pay (52.9 %) which may explain the greater number of these professionals working in more than one service. Psychologists also predominate in serving families, using the psychoanalytic approach. 25 % of professionals reported receiving administration of medication, and 01 of them psychologists, 10 nurses and 02 physicians. Actions to promote patient autonomy are made by 80% of participants, while 61 % say realize it after patient discharge, and only 39 % said they promote them throughout the patient's stay in the institution. Just over a third of respondents considered that the institution where they work completely follows the policies in mental health. The role of mental health nursing is satisfactory for 45.1 % of the participants. 55 % of participants considered that there is failure in vocational training in its class as has been shown in previous studies. Conclusion: This study helped understand the profile and characterization of teams of mental health services in the municipality of Uberlândia. It was confirmed that devices of community-based mental health care face many difficulties and, most fail to follow policies recommended by the Ministry of Health
