O presente trabalho apresenta teorias que tratam do poder e algumas das relações que ele estabelece com o universo jurídico e com organismos sociais, através das perspectivas de estudiosos das áreas jurídica, filosófica e sociológica. É feita a exposição de elementos formadores e caracterizadores da metrópole paulistana e de como o poder nela se manifesta, visto que a análise se baseia em dados da maior e mais rica cidade do país. São também descritos os movimentos sociais através de leituras históricas a esse respeito, bem como algumas de suas respectivas classificações, atuações, reações e demandas sobretudo daqueles grupos que lutam por moradia na cidade de São Paulo. Estabelecem-se ligações entre as teorias inicialmente expostas, suas contextualizações na realidade nacional, especialmente na capital paulista, e as atuações dos aludidos movimentos sociais que tem por objetivo a conquista de moradia. Ainda como forma de aprofundar a análise e buscando-se ampliar a compreensão do objeto estudado através da apreciação de elementos artísticos, utilizam-se filmes e letras de músicas que versam sobre a temática da moradia em São Paulo.

This research presents theories about power and some of its relations established in the judicial universe and social organizations through judicial, philosophical and sociological scholars perspectives. An exposition of forming and characterizing elements of São Paulo is done as well as how its power is manifested; once such analysis is focused on the biggest and wealthiest city in Brazil. Apart from that some social movements through their historical studies are also exposed, along with some of their classifications, actions, reactions and demands mostly those groups who fight for housing in the city of São Paulo. Linkings among the exposed theories, their contextualizations in the city of São Paulo, and the behavior of the social movements toward housing mentioned above, have been established. Yet, as a way of deepening the analysis through artistic elements there is the possibility of broadening the understanding of this study having it supported on cinema and lyrics dealing with housing issues about São Paulo City.
