Abstract in English
The microorganisms show an enormous genetic diversity. They are rather important components of food chains and biogeochemical cycles. It is estimated that less than 10% of the living microorganisms have been studied. The taxonomy of tropical bacteria belonging to the genus Bradyrhizobium is still poorly known. Those 'N IND.2' fixing nitrogen bacteria are critical for high income soybean production in Brazil, responsable for 25% of the world-wide production. The main objective of this work is to classify a brazilian collection of 111 Bradyrhizobium strains showing phenotypic characteristics of B. elkanii and B. japonicum, isolated from 33 tropical legume species. The data consist of electrophoresis in a gel images obtained from PCR-RFLP analysis of 3 ribosomal regions: 16S, 23S e IGS. They were digested with 3 restriction endonuclease: CfoI, MspI and DdeI. This work presented some algorithms which can help in taxonomic studies of Bradyrhizobium strains using electrophoresis in a gel images. The results are similar to that available in the literature.
