O trabalho investiga os asilos colônias, que, durante décadas do século XX, serviram ao isolamento compulsório das pessoas com hanseníase no Estado de São Paulo, seguindo preceitos do higienismo. Busca reconhecer diretrizes e referências que nortearam os projetos de urbanismo e arquitetura desses estabelecimentos asilares. Trata-se de um tema que remonta às influências do poder, da exclusão, da disciplina e dos estigmas, na criação e utilização de um modelo espacial, resultando em diferentes realidades que definiram a existência e imagem de seus ocupantes.

The work investigates the leper colonies that, during decades on the 20th century, served to the compulsory isolation of the people with hansen in the state of Sao Paulo, following hygienic precepts. It looks to recognize directives and references that orientated the projects of urbanism and architecture of these asylums' institutions. The subject remounts to the influences of the power, of the exclusion, of the discipline and of the stigmas, on the creation and use of a space model, resulting in different facts that defined the existence and image of its occupants.
