Keywords in Portuguese
classificação de solos
estabilização granulométrica
forma e textura das partículas
Title in English
Influence of gross fraction characteristics variation in the artificial soils behavior
Abstract in English
The goal of this work is to evaluate the influence of the gross fraction characteristic variation in the behavior of the compacted soils mechanic properties, two artificial soils mounting program were developed in this work. The first program was developed to analyze the form and texture influence of the gross fraction grains; the second program, to analyze the influence of the gross fraction granulometric distribution and percentage. The purpose of this work was to contribute for the elaboration of a future soil classification based on granulometric analysis and on the methylene blue adsorption test. The artificial soils were submitted to the tests of liquid and plastic limits, granulometric analysis, mini-MCV, loss of mass by immersion, mini-CBR immediate and after 24 hours of immersion, expansion and shrinkage in the intermediary energy. The test results allowed to make charts of technological properties soil variation as a function of the gross fraction characteristics and content. Based on that charts it is possible to estimate the gross fraction characteristic influence in the behavior of the soil properties
