Abstract in English
Age-related pathologies, particularly, osteoporosis, have become important health problems in high life expectancy countries. The study of causes and diagnosis of osteoporosis is of great importance for the patients, as well as for the health authorities and policy, considering the high costs involved. The development and production of equipment for diagnosis and treatment of osteoporosis must take into account the large number of patients to be surveyed and, therefore, the costs of such management. In the present work, the impact of those costs on the public health policy was studied, beginning with a general view on the main etiology and clinical aspects of osteoporosis means. Special attention was given to Mean Instantaneous Frequency Method due to its simplicity and capability to complement other classical methods reported in the literature.
