Na construção de um argumento em favor da disciplina arquitetônica como campo ampliado e como um fazer ético, este toma como objeto de análise dois projetos de arquitetura - Parque Biblioteca Santo Domingo e Parque Biblioteca La Quintana - e suas respectivas inserções urbanas como parte de uma profunda reestruturação territorial implantada pelos Projetos Urbanos Integrais no período entre 2003 e 2007 na cidade de Medellín, Colômbia. A arquitetura e o espaço público dos Parques Bibliotecas como elementos centrais no processo de transformação da cidade de Medellín e no enfrentamento da precariedade urbana típica das cidades latino-americanas são parte da proposição de uma série de intervenções representativas da ação e presença do Estado frente à fragmentação política e territorial, e violência urbana que marcam historicamente a cidade de Medellín. Através de uma arquitetura que busca dialogar com as diversas pré-existências - materiais ou não - os projetos são definidos como amálgamas de uma série de intervenções que tem como foco a transformação pela infraestrutura urbana, mobilizando diversos sistemas presentes na cidade colombiana. Nesse sentido, as intervenções são centrais na construção de uma narrativa que pretende profundas transformações também no imaginário da cidade.

In the construction of an argument in favor of architectural discipline as an extended field and as an ethical one, this one takes as object of analysis two architecture projects - Santo Domingo Library Parks and La Quintana Library Parks - and their respective urban insertions as part of a deep territorial restructuring implemented by the Integral Urban Projects in the period between 2003 and 2007 in the city of Medellín, Colombia. The architecture and public space of Libraries as central elements in the process of transformation of the city of Medellín and the confrontation of urban precariousness typical of Latin American cities are part of the proposal of a series of interventions representative of the action and presence of the State in the face of political and territorial fragmentation, and urban violence that historically mark the city of Medellín. Through an architecture that looks for to dialogue with the various pre-existences, - materials or not - the projects are defined as amalgams of a series of interventions that focus on the transformation by the urban infrastructure, mobilizing diverse systems present in the Colombian city. In this sense, the interventions are central in the construction of a narrative that intends deep transformations also in the imaginary of the city.
