O presente trabalho concatena uma argumentação que busca satisfazer questões, problemas e relações que suscitam do binômio Arquitetura-Cidade, mantendo unidas a teoria e a prática. Com enfoque na trajetória do arquiteto uruguaio destacamos os pontos de inflexão que agem sobre a sua formação quando imerso no debate internacional da década de sessenta. As obras selecionadas que integram a dissertação devem contribuir como um instrumento válido para compreensão da cidade contemporânea, estreitando a relação entre tipo arquitetônico e forma urbana, fomentando a cultura de projeto arquitetônico. A pesquisa analisa metodologicamente três projetos de habitação de interesse social na cidade de São Paulo desenvolvidos por Héctor Vigliecca e sua equipe: Casarão do Carmo (2003-2017); Gleba H (2009-2013); e Parque Novo Santo Amaro V (2009-2012). Em um repertório abrangente, Vigliecca comprova uma consistência rara na busca constante por uma resposta que nasce necessariamente da compreensão do tecido urbano, as propostas atingem valores investigativos e especulativos de projeto, refutando qualquer resposta premedita, propõe, de uma forma subjacente, hipóteses de cidades.

The present work concatenates an argument that aims to satisfy questions that emerges from the Architecture-City binomial, maintaining theory and practice united. Focusing on the trajectory of the Uruguayan architect we highlight the inflection points that affect his formation when immersed in the international debate of the 1960s. The selected works should contribute as a valid instrument to apprehend the contemporary city, narrowing the relationship between architectural type and urban form, fomenting the culture of architectural design. The research analyzes methodologically three social housing interventions in São Paulo developed by Héctor Vigliecca and his team: Casarão do Carmo (2003-2017); Gleba H (2009-2013); and Parque Novo Santo Amaro V (2009-2012). In a comprehensive repertoire, Vigliecca proves a rare consistency in the persistent search for a response that arises necessarily from the understanding of the urban fabric, the proposals reach an investigatory and speculative values, refuting any premeditated answers, suggests hypothesis of cities.
