Esta dissertação aborda a Estrada de Ferro Araraquara, ferrovia fundada em 1895 que se estendeu por mais de 400 km no noroeste paulista. Por meio dos relatórios anuais produzidos pela companhia e documentos auxiliares, como plantas das primeiras estações fundadas, observa-se a empresa desde seus primeiros anos de operação até 1912, quando seus trilhos atingiram a cidade de São José do Rio Preto. Ademais, com o auxílio de material fotográfico feito in loco e aerofotogramétrico, apresenta-se o registro contemporâneo das estações ferroviárias da empresa presentes no mesmo recorte territorial investigado nos documentos. Tem-se como objetivo contribuir para o entendimento dessa companhia ferroviária paulista ainda pouco explorada, bem como fazer o registro de estações ferroviárias, o que ainda não foi feito ou discutido pela perspectiva arquitetônica, urbana, histórica e cultural.

This thesis addresses the Araraquara Railroad, a railroad founded in 1895 and which stretched over 400 km in the northwest of the State of São Paulo. Through the annual reports produced by the Company and ancillary documents, such as plants of the first founded stations, the company can be observed from its first years of operation until 1912, when its tracks reached the city of São José do Rio Preto. Moreover, with the aid of photographic material made on site and aerial photography, the contemporary record of the company's railway stations present in the same territorial area investigated in the documents is presented. Aiming to contribute to the understanding of this little explored São Paulo Railroad Company, as well as to bring the registration of railway stations that from the architectural, urban, historical and cultural perspective have not yet been registered or discussed.
