responsabilidade social

Abstract in English
This work tries to find a better understanding about the influence of the adoption of concepts and tools of the social responsibility in the management of enterprises. Some aspects related with the management of the social responsibility of the firms were chosen in order to study eventual relationships among them and with some dimensions of organizational performance. A bibliography revision about the subject was performed. It could be seen that it is a very emergent theme with a large variety of aspects covered but with a low convergence among authors yet. This suggests that we are dealing with a subject that is complex, multidisciplinary and in an embryonic stage. Based in the concepts found in the literature it was conceived a reference framework that oriented the execution of an empirical research, involving three Brazilian enterprises. The results of the research suggest that the relationships among the variables considered are very dependent of the environments of the enterprises. Many analyses about the relationships among the variables are performed bringing some light to a very new and controversial subject.
