Abstract in English
Sugarcane is an important crop from the point of view of strategic and economic of Brazil. Nowadays, the maintenance of straw at harvesting is a common practice in sugar cane plants and modify the management of sugarcane crop owing to the amount of material deposited on the soil surface (5 to 20 Mg ha - ¹). That system in many cases may compromise the effectiveness of the herbicide owing to increased sorption in the surface layer of the straw and consequently decreased leaching. Furthermore, the mixture of fertilizer and soil conditioners at the same within tank can reduce the control effectiveness both herbicides and fertilizer. Therefore , the objectives of this research were : (i) to evaluate the influence of the decomposition degree of the straw on control efficacy and leaching of herbicides ( 14C) tebuthiuron and hexazinone (ii ) rainfall, soil conditioner ( humic acid), commercial formulation and the residence time ( " aging " ), retention (sorption) and leaching of herbicides( 14C ) tebuthiuron and hexazinone. The results showed that : (i) regardless of straw decomposition degree, the presence of straw on the soil surface affected the leaching potential of herbicides ( 85 and 78 % of the applied amounts of tebuthiuron and hexazinone, respectively, were retained in the straw ) . The straw decomposition degree affect control efficacy of hexazinone, but did not the tebuthiuron (84 and 98 % of control in treatments of major efficacy with hexazinone and tebuthiuron , respectively ), (ii ) it was observed that the form of rain simulation affected the leaching of herbicides (27 and 39 % of the applied amounts of tebuthiuron and hexazinone, respectively, were leached when it used a single flow channel, while 43 and 42 % were leached, respectively, with 4 channels of flow). There is a tendency of humic acid act as co-solvent increasing mobility of tebuthiuron and hexazinone with active ingredient. There is a difference when using the active ingredient in relationship commercial product on the experiments developing. The sorption potential of tebuthiuron and hexazinone was low in all soils and treatments studied (Kd = 0.61 to 3.20 L kg - 1 for tebuthiuron and Kd = 0.07 to 1.75 L kg - 1 for hexazinone ) . Overall, the raw sugarcane agricultural systems promote significant changes in the dynamics of herbicides.
