O Museu de Arqueologia de Itaipu, criado pelo Instituto do Patrimônio Histórico e Artístico Nacional - IPHAN, em 1955 dentro das ruínas do Recolhimento de Santa Teresa, na cidade de Niterói, possuía em seu projeto de criação a intenção de relacionar-se diretamente com o grupo de pescadores artesanais da Praia de Itaipu. Esta pesquisa busca problematizar como as condições políticas, sociais e culturais da criação e estruturação do Museu influenciaram na construção de narrativas museológicas, nas políticas e processos comunicacionais, analisados a partir das exposições de longa duração. São identificadas algumas das territorialidades que conforma o território e a pesca artesanal em Itaipu com destaque para as relações entre a Instituição, os pescadores e a representação desses temas nas exposições de longa duração.

The Archaeological Museum of Itaipu was created by the National Historic and Artistic Heritage Institute - IPHAN, in 1955, within the ruins of the Santa Teresa Gathering in the city of Niterói, and had in its creation project the purpose of relate directly with the group of traditional fishermen from Itaipu beach. This research aims to discuss how the political, social and cultural conditions of the foundation and structuring of the Museum, influenced the construction of museum narratives, policies and communication processes, analyzed from long-term exposures. It was identified some of the territoriality that conform the territory and traditional fisheries in Itaipu, highlighting the relationship between the Institution, the fishermen and the representation of these issues in the long-term exposures.
