Abstract in English
The research describe the trajectory of the woodcut collection since it inclusion, under provisional jurisdiction, on the Visual Arts collection of the Institute of Brazilian Studies of the University of São Paulo Paulo (IEB-USP), highlighting the disinfestation and disinfection treatment with gamma radiation in partnership with the Center of Radiation Technology at the Institute of Energy and Nuclear Research (CTR-IPEN), articulating around the importance of conservation of Material Heritage as a sign and language of northeastern brazilian cultural identity. The research draws from the interdisciplinarity between the science of conservation, human sciences and applied physics, a proposal of analysis of the materiality of the collection twelve years after the rescue by means of non-invasive techniques of archeometry: Optical Microscopy, Fluorescence by Ray- X by Energy Dispersion (EDXRF) and Fourier Transform Infrared Fluorescence (FTIR).
