Abstract in English
Among the viral diseases transmitted by arthropods, dengue is the most important because of its high morbimortality impact in the world population in recent years, as well as requiring more intense efforts and investments from public health services. The epidemiological study of space-time distribution and risk factor for occurrence of dengue cases and Aedes aegypti breeding grounds is of extreme importance, allowing the municipality under study to act based on strategic actions in the control and prophylaxis of the vector, as well as of the diseases conveyed by it. The objective of this study was to spatially describe the data of reported cases of dengue and larval positivity of Aedes aegypti, in the city of Praia Grande - SP, and to study possible risk factors. A study was carried out, with a hybrid, ecological and temporal trend design. In this study, the sociodemographic variables of the municipality were analyzed, using data from the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics, the Paulista Index of Social Vulnerability and the Health Department of the city of Praia Grande. The timespace distribution of confirmed cases of dengue, obtained through the Information System of Notifiable Diseases of the Ministry of Health and data of larval positivity in real estate, collected from the Sisaweb Information System, the Superintendence of Control of Endemic Diseases State of São Paulo. Finally, the relationship between the occurrence of cases and the socio-demographic variables as risk factors was evaluated. It was possible to observe that the municipality has a well-demarcated socio-demographic distribution, however the spatial distribution of the cases in Praia Grande is random without clusters formation, and no correlation was found between the cases with the entomological and sociodemographic variables. The time series revealed that the cases of dengue follow a seasonal pattern with marked seasonality, with cases concentrated in the first semester of the year, and peak epidemiological cycle every 2 to 3 years.
